  2. Hi Shawn! LOVED this podcast. I just ‘found’ you a week ago from the Origins interviews, and have jammed in your podcasts every day since. You guys were sooo funny especially in this episode and everything you said rang out loud and clear. Love you guys! xxx

    1. Big hug, Lynn! Glad you found me as well 🙂 I think this is definitely one of the episodes that resonates with a LOT of people. Thanks so much for sharing. We’re in this together!

  3. What things are your listeners asking for when it comes to consuming podcasts?

  4. Shawn,

This show is my #1 health podcast. I have an hour commute one way to work every day so I utilize my time educating myself 2 hours a day with podcasts. I have listened to every one of your episodes and now that I am caught up, have re listened to a few 2-3 times to really soak in and learn the information. My only critique is some shows are so good I wish they could be longer, lol. Thank you so so (with a bar line on top) much for doing what you do.

I chose this episode to comment on because here’s my problem. I am 36, but most of my close family members are older (40-70+). They have been misinformed almost their entire lives and only believe what the doctors tell them. My mom takes an anti biotic every time she thinks she is getting a cold or has a sinus infection (bad, I know). Everything is low fat, margined or processed. She believes everything her obese doctor tells her. Every month my precious niece is on an antibiotic for something, she is literally being raised on fast food (EVERY SINGLE DAY), she is always sick and her parents do not see how wrong that is. They are on the same lifestyle too. It’s not that they don’t care, it’s that they don’t know and it’s honestly all they know. See where I come from (poor section of Philly) this is the lifestyle of the average person, this is all totally normal and most people do not see this as a problem. My in laws are in their 60’s and unfortunately they look and feel like they are in their seventies. My father in law has had a pace maker for ten years and three years ago he had a stroke (at 61!). My mother in law is on medicine for high blood pressure, cholesterol, and now just recently diabetes. She is 63 years old and walking up the steps is a dramatic event for her. They were born and raised on and still eat processed and fast food for every single meal every single day of their lives (no exaggeration). They do not drink any water, but soda and sugary drinks all day long. They simply can’t see the simplicity in just eating real food (JERF) and how it could change their lives and get them off the medication that they complain how horrible it makes them feel. The people we love could be helped if they only knew how easy it was.

It saddens my heart because I love them so much and they are such good people. They think this is all normal because they “are getting old” or the famous “it’s genetics”. To make it even harder, my wife is not on board with me and is not into health and fitness like I am. She was raised the same way and believes doctors over what people like you and me know is the REAL truth. How can I get her on board to help them change? Her parents and others in our family need intervention. Like that show where family members are hooked on drugs, they are hooked on the SAD and believing the man in the white coat. Like you, this is my greatest passion and I have the knowledge to help add years to her parents lives if they let me.

Sorry for such a long and dramatic first post, lol.

  7. Hi shawn I love all of your podcasts!!
I live in the north of England in Yorkshire and I’m trying to spread the information I learn from you to my family and friends.
I love listening to you whilst I cook for my family. I love hunting out local produce and creating great meals for my kids and husband.

You are doing an amazing job!!
    Love ya shawn!!

    1. Liesa, that made my day even better! Best to all of your friends and family out in the UK from me and my family in the heart of the U.S. So glad that we’re connected! Much more greatness to come 🙂

  8. Hi Shawn, thanks so much for this info! Some folks I know are eager to learn what I am listening to via podcasts, but others are slow to make a change, especially when it comes to food. They are afraid they can never have another cheeto! I have found that by eating real food, I just don’t crave the usual suspects, such as sugar and grains, any longer. I plan to utilize your tips when having conversations about a healthy lifestyle and focus on what they want. I really appreciate the practical advice!
