TMHS 777: How to Eat Smarter & Live Healthier

TMHS 114: 15 Delicious Ways To Add More Superfoods To Your Meals

Some foods go above and beyond when it comes to nourishing the human body.

Thousands upon thousands of foods have some of the nutrients we need to sustain health, but many of the superfoods you’re about to learn about today come very close to having it all.

I have a deep affinity for many of these foods because they have helped to revolutionize my health. And I don’t say that lightly.

I’ve gained so much from utilizing these foods that it’s really hard to put to words. But the real game-changing insight for me was discovering, not just what superfoods to use, but how to actually get the most from them. That’s what today’s show is all about.

In this episode you’ll discover:

  • What the #1 source of protein in the world is.
  • What nutrient can help you to create better blood.
  • The surprising compound that can trigger your body to produce more stem cells.
  • Why you’ll want to reconsider taking your supplements in capsule form.
  • What the colors in food actually indicate.
  • Which common spice has powerful anti-cancer effects.
  • How to increase the assimilation of the nutrients in your food.
  • Important information about eggs that you need to know about!
  • What superfood is clinically proven to help train your immune system.
  • How to make the most powerful, health-giving drink ever.
  • Some critical tea preparation tips that you need to know about.
  • What category of superfoods has a direct impact on improving your thyroid function and metabolism.
  • Why bananas are not even close to being a healthy source of potassium.
  • What superfood has 30 to 60 times more vitamin C than oranges.
  • What top antioxidant food also has powerful, positive hormone precursors.
  • Where to find the most useable source of protein for the human body.
  • Why your omega fatty acid ratios are so important.
  • What biological transmutation is and why it’s so important for health.
  • Why certain types of sugars are actually medicine (this is incredible!)
  • How the doctrine of signatures works as nature’s nutrition “instruction booklet”.
  • What unique food can help you to produce more human growth hormone.
  • Which high fat food is great for your brain and also your energy levels.

    You’re the best!!

  3. Shawn you rock! Thank you for being the superhero that you are! You’ve saved and improved my life and others no doubt. Keep saving the day!

  4. Hi Shawn
I signed in to get the recipes but can’t find them. Can you help? It was my first time listening. A housemate suggested you—she loves your shows and now I see why!
    Thanks

I’d really like to make the chocolate chili!

  5. Just wanted to drop a line and say how much I am LOVING the new format. Watching you guys adds a whole new amazing element to my favorite show.

Always awed by Shawn’s amazing talent of disseminating and clarifying complex scientific info into concise, user-friendly, and action-oriented chunks perfectly complimented by Jade’s asking of the perfect questions. This show is pure magic.

Thanks for the awesome recipes and inspiration. Going out right now to pick some dandelion greens from my chem-free lawn.

    Peace and Love!

  6. One more thing…maybe there is a podcast and I haven’t gotten to it yet, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on intermittent fasting and BCAA’s. Both separately and together.

    Thanks!

  7. Shawn,

Love this episode and the awesome freemium, Superfood Mini Recipe book – Thank you!

I’ve been listening from episode 1 the last month or so and the new ones as they come out. I’m a little overwhelmed with all the supplements/superfoods and how to incorporate them. I’ve decided to make One Simple Change at a time, and over several months, try to begin incorporating them all. I already use chia/flax/tumeric/coconut oil. Out of the others, which would be the best to begin my journey with? Biggest bang for my buck/effort?

    Thanks so much!

    Kelly

  8. Shawn & Jade,

I finally made it, just over a month ago I was introduced to your marvellous podcast by a lovely co-worker who knows me for loving my health and fitness. The first time I listened to The Model Health Show was in the gym. Instantly I was hooked and felt so comfortable with your voices. I realised after only 2 podcasts that the content was huge and had to listen to each one of them! Once back home I downloaded all of them and began listening relentlessly from number one! I’ve since filled a fat notepad with what you teach me titled “My Health bible”… It didn’t take me long to fill that up!
I’ve spent every single day listening to you guys since then.
You’ve changed my life! My biggest ‘Aha!’ moment was during episode 003 ‘The Truth About Cancer’, I’ve been bra-less ever since!
I’ve gained so much knowledge, your knowledge helps transform me into a better version of myself and there is still so much to implement and share, you’ve opened my eyes to a whole new world of healthy living.
With English being my third language I can’t find enough words to say THANK YOU, no words are enough to describe my gratitude! So thank you thank you thank you thank you for your kindness, love and devotion to we, the listeners of your Podcast!

    Deeply and truly yours
Artemis from New Zealand (originally Greek and Belgian)

    1. Artemis, this message is so powerful and meaningful that I had to read it twice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    2. Efharistó Artemis! Your note to Shawn & Jade practically mirrored my experience of their podcast. I am impressed by the correctness of your third language– English! Such a gift, these two people, huh?

  9. There is a lot of information in these podcasts. Especially for ones like this, I wish you would list out the superfood and a summary here. It’s just really hard to remember it all. (I was hoping that they’d be listed in the recipe download).

That aside, I love the show! Thanks for your work!

    1. Thanks so much for the love, Luke. As for the summary, we invested in transcripts for a while and not enough people were taking advantage of them to justify the cost. It takes days of preparation for the shows most times, so if I were to add a written summary myself then there’s little chance we’d get a show out every week lol.

      1. I agree with Luke. On an episode like this where there is a list of something, it would be really great to at least have a summary of the 15 superfoods. Please reconsider transcripts or at least summary for some, not all of your episodes.

        Thanks,
        Troy

        1. Hi Shawn,
I forgot to tell you thank you for giving us some of your recipes. I am looking forward to trying them out.

On an unrelated topic, I found you by listing to Pat Flynn, and your podcasts on sleeping have made a tremendous improvement on my life. THANK YOU!
